Note: The observant reader will no doubt wonder why the Lt. Cmdr. hasn't deployed his gloves. After all, just because your powered fullerene suit provides you with the upper-body strength to bend bars doesn't mean your naked, pink hands will have the grip strength to front the operation.

In John's case, his naked, pink hands DO have the grip strength. He may not look like much, but he's not a guy you want to play "handshake" with.
