Book 14: Broken Wind — Part II: Can Full of Sky

Transcript

BRISTLECONE: The Captain wanted us to work all the angles.  What about shooting our way into the spindle?

KEVYN: Well, it's tough stuff.  PTU matrices, braids of amorphous alloys, powered fullerenes...

KEVYN: And it's thickest in all the places where a hole would be useful.

Probably because in all of those places, a hole would be catastrophic.

BRISTLECONE: I can't imagine much air leaking out through a hole in the spindle.

KEVYN: I'm imagining the can flying apart at around thirty thousand kilometers an hour.

ELF: And I imagine that would let out all of the air.
