Book 16: Big, Dumb Objects — Part II

Transcript

NARRATOR: Jumpstar Prime, Fabber Control...

PARA: It won't compile.

There are millions of linkage failures, and the fabber is throwing so many "Bad GET-REF" alerts I feel like I should apologize to it.

ELF: You should.

I told you not to tweak the design.

PARA: I didn't. I wasn't given a design. I was given a stack of specs that won't compile.

ELF: Let me have a go at it. Fabbers are tetchy.

PARA: "Tetchy."

That means they require an explicit instruction set, right?

ELF: It means... hmph.

ELF: This isn't a valid design library. It's just a stack of specs.

PARA: Big room.

I hear an echo.

ELF: This has to be a mistake. Did Captain Tagon send this?

PARA: No, it came from your boyfriend the Mad Scientist.

ELF: The Captain Mad Scientist. I'll thank you to show a bit more respect, Corporal.

PARA: It's hard to respect this slop he sent us.

ELF: Then do the hard thing, Corporal.

Show respect regardless of circumstance.

PARA: Yes Commander. My bad. Won't happen again.

ELF: Good. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to call my boyfriend and have a word with him about this slop he sent us.
