Book 16: Big, Dumb Objects — Part III

Transcript

TAGON: We can protect ourselves without a first strike. The boats can lay down standby ordnance.

Pre-targeted, a big enough swarm of missiles could put a stop to a sail-based attack before anyone gets hurt.

The missiles wouldn't even need to detonate. Just zipping back and forth through the fabric would do the job.

KATHRYN: A swarm of missiles isn't going to look very friendly.

TAGON: They're on standby.

KATHRYN: That's not the same as "friendly."
