Book 16: Big, Dumb Objects — Part IV

Transcript

PETEY: Captain Murtaugh, don't despair.

MURTAUGH: Who says I'm despairing?

PETEY: Unless I'm reading you incorrectly, you feel like you paid too much for information you cannot use.

MURTAUGH: That's not despair. It's regret.

PETEY: You've also given up hope that anyone will be able to use what you learned in time to save civilization.

MURTAUGH: Okay, that? That's despair.

PETEY: Exactly. Don't do that!

MURTAUGH: Petey, you can't order me to hope. You have to give me hope.

PETEY: It's in the coupon book. Page two.
