Dude. Busy Week. I mean… DUDE.
Posted June 28th, 2008 by Howard TaylerThis week so far…
1) Scripted, penciled, and inked a week of comics.
2) Upped the magnet order to ensure sufficient quantities for Comic-Con
3) Finished the edits on The Teraport Wars. This included some big image edits, commentary callouts, and huge piles of work laid at Sandra’s feet.
4) Sent The Teraport Wars off for printing. This means we now have a guestimated delivery date (to OUR door, not yours) of September 30th.
5) Scripted, penciled, and inked a second week of comics.
I say “so far” because I still need to finish coloring a week or two of comics. Then (and ONLY then) I can be satisfied with my work this week.
In unrelated news I saw Wanted and Wall-E. Wall-E is my new #1 for the summer, and Wanted drops in above (yes ABOVE) Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. This is not to say that Wanted is a good film, or has any redeeming value in my sight… just that I liked it a lot more.

In about a month, once I have the advance copies, and know that the book is coming.

“Wall-E is my new #1 for the summer,”
Ha! Toldja. ;)

Just got back from watching Wanted myself and rather enjoyed it as well.

Wall-E. Sigh. Now that my favorite cartoonist recommends it I just have to see it.
So, any hints about pre-order swag for Teraport Wars?

Mmmmm, Angelina Jolie……with a gun, what’s not to like?

Bring it on! Looking forward to ordering. Thanks for the update.

Thanks Howard.
I now know when my final elective purchase of the year takes place!
Unless, that is, you come out with more merchandise I can’t survive without in the next six months.

I fell asleep during Wall-E. But I liked what I DID see…
Newborns take it out of you.

I’ve avoided Wall-E just on the concept. Maybe I’ll see it, but since I don’t have kids I might have to wait for Netflix to save face. Wanted just looks fun though, and when I look it up I discover it’s a comic-book movie which is another thumb up in my opinion.

I saw Wanted today. Ultimately I felt it was an okay story, told well. It had very little depth at all, and made very little sense in the bargain; but it was pleasantly frenetic, and its style was pretty entertaining.
Basically, it was fun during, but afterwards I kinda regretted it. (Oddly enough, the same goes for the Mexican dinner I had later. Ugh.)
(Indy was in about the same boat, but I think I felt better about it because of the series; by which I mean, I came out of the theater disappointed in the film, not myself.)

Are you really taking this movie critic thing seriously, or is this more like a hobby? Seriously, I’m gonna have to see Wall-E now, but sadly, I don’t go to the cinema, so I’ll have to wait for DVD.

Define “seriously.”
I believe I am more qualified to review movies for my readers than most professional movie critics are. We share similar tastes.

The Boss: “I believe I am more qualified to review movies for my
readers than most professional movie critics are. We share similar
tastes.”
Similar, if not exact — for ex., I am avoiding both _Speed Racer_
and _Wanted_, as both contain Things Which Make Me Physically
Ill (among other things: ferret-on-heroin-and-four-double-espressos
editing, in the former; Angelina Jolie, in the latter…).
But then, I happen to think _Conspiracy_, featuring Kenneth Branagh
and Colin Firth, is one of the best movies ever made; whereas most
people I know would be bored (when not appalled) by it.
