Putting Murphy on our side
Posted July 27th, 2008 by Sandra TaylerBy Sandra Tayler
That whole post about potential problems with the schlock site is now moot. We made sure that Mr. Murphy and his rules couldn’t take the Schlock comic out of commission, so he instead opted for making me look like Chicken Little. The domain registration renewal went through mere hours after I ran around making posts anywhere and everywhere I could think that fans might go looking for information. Now I get to run around and spam every place again to say “Never mind.”
Can I tell you how happy I am to be Chicken Little? It is so much better than having site downtime.
Cheep! Cheep!

Putting up the props for the sky is a whole lot easier than just running around, isn’t it?

If you hadn’t played “Chicken Little” Murphy would have struck, because that’s how he rolls.

Paranoia is just a matter of making pessimism and realism the same thing.
Redundancy and paranoia are the keys to security, which the keys are redundancy and paranoia. And stop looking at me that way. Your out to get me aren’t you?

You did fine, Sandra. Better ready for nothing than unprepared for something unpleasant.

There is something extraordinarily appropriate about discussing Chicken Little while a brown pixelated waterfall descends :-)

Brown, pixelated waterfall…. Sounds like a weird cross between “Mario Brothers”, the movie, and “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”

It’s a quote from http://www.schlockmercenary.com/d/20080721.html
And quite descriptive, too.

“Under the bridge, by the river… how did you know it was an
ambush?”
“‘Whenever there’s any doubt, there is no doubt’ — that’s the first
thing they teach you.”
[Vincent, and Sam, _Ronin_]
Es verdad? :)

Forwarned is forearmed.. or… I dunno… something like that.
I thought I’d come back and comment on the brown pixelated waterfall you mentioned ;) I like it. It did help put things into perspective for me. And I can’t wait to see Lota train her humans. Thanks, and keep up the great work!!

Snicker: So Andy is fourwarned?
And you can’t wait to see Lota train Lota’s humans. Lota is too large for your puny pronouns.

I like Lota. I like watching Lota work.
I particularly like watching Lota when Lota and I (puny individual that I am) are separated by great distances in four dimensions.

csadn trusts Lota about as far as csadn can throw Lota….
