Auctions! Closing this Thursday!

Posted November 30th, 2008 by Howard Tayler

Teraport Wars Sketch edition #404It would seem that there are still a few sketch editions left. Sandra makes me do extras so that those lost in the mail can be replaced, and this time around we discovered a real treat: Sketch Edition #404 has Schlock in it, and he’s holding a blank sheet and saying “I couldn’t find the page you were looking for.”

We’ve also got some less numerically notable Teraport Wars sketches on the dutch-auction block this week: six Kevyns, three Tagons, two Elfs, and two Ennesbys.

In the Schlock Mercenary store we still have some scratch-and-dent books left. These books feature dings, scuffs, and light damage that most folks wouldn’t notice, but you Schlock fans aren’t most folks. You are discriminating customers with an eye for quality. Or for a bargain. In this case you’re getting 30% off for damage you’d probably inflict yourself on the first read-through. We’ve got three Tubs, six TPWs, and nine each of Under New Management and The Blackness Between left, so don’t wait too long before placing an order.

Speaking of low stock: We’re down to our last 25 sets of warning sign magnets, and we definitely will not be able to get more before Christmas, let alone in time to ship them for pre-holiday arrival.

Sandra tells me that we will be having another few auctions next week. I’m assuming these will be original sketches and marker pieces done for margin art, but I don’t know. She’s in charge of that.

I still need to get off my butt and get the other bits of art I’ve gotten from you framed…

“six Kevyns, three Tagons, two Elfs, and two Ennesbys…”

What, no partridges in pear trees?

(Sorry, I couldn’t resist. ‘Tis the season and all…”

  3. Jay Maynard Says:

So, was #403 a sketch of Schlock pointing his plasgun at the reader and saying he didn’t have permission to look?

  4. Howard Tayler Says:

I don’t get #403 errors enough for that to have jumped to mind as I was drawing it. But I’ll definitely keep that one in mind for the next batch. :-)

on the subject of merch… (BTW, that’s Welsh for “girl”)

any plans for either new mousemat or t-shirt designs in the near future? I need a new mousemat, and it kind of makes sense to get a shirt at the same time as I’m paying international postage. However I have both the shirts currently on offer. If there’s apt to be a new shirt in the next month or two then I’ll hold off on the mousemat until then, if not, I’ll go ahead and order it.

  6. Sandra Tayler Says:

We plan to do some new shirts next year, but we need to get Out From Under done first. So earliest on shirts would be March-ish.

  7. Howard Tayler Says:

Short answer… no new merch before Christmas, though there will be some auctions.

Why? Because the merch gets shipped by my Best Girl Sandra, and I’d like to see a bit more of her during the holidays. A rush on the store the week before Christmas would be a real pain.

(Don’t get me wrong. We love shipping things to fans. We’re just not going to go out of our way to encourage last-minute shoppers.)

  8. Sam Says:

Off-topic, but I just had to express my appreciation of today’s punchline. “That’s even worse than I thought.”

Still laughing as I post this.

  9. csadn Says:

Sam’s remark reminds me: How well/poorly do carbosilicate amorphs
    handle hard vacuum?

  10. ElGuapo7 Says:

    “Explosive decompression sucks”….

Not so well. He had to eat his eyeballs. (The Nejjat Wormgate Hostage Situation)

And I did that without even looking, folks! :p

  11. Sam Says:

csadn: Schlock’s been sucked into space twice that I remember. The most recent time, he had to eat his eyeballs, but he got better.

But this time, he’s going to be close to the antimatter, so if it goes off he’s gonna get vaporised.

And as I was typing this, I was handed the long-awaited postcard. Howard, why are the amorphs different colours? Is it dietary?

  12. Howard Tayler Says:

@ Sam: Because it made for a more colorful postcard. Also, I have lots of markers!
