Safe House

I saw Safe House earlier this week hoping to see Ryan Reynolds and Denzel Washington chew up the scenery. Sadly, that's not quite how it went down. I had hoped that going to see a February release during the month of March would remove some of the February stigma from the film. I was proven wrong.

This is a reasonably serviceable spy thriller with sadly predictable crosses and double-crosses, shaky-cam fights, and a well-deserved R-rating for the brutal violence. Also, Ryan Reynolds was played by somebody who doesn't wise-crack at all under pressure. Weird.

I liked The Lorax better.
