Writing Excuses, As Seen On YouTube

If any of your eyeballs have not yet completely melted out of your heads from seeing Howard's Happy Dance on YouTube, you might consider employing those eyeballs to see the first ever video capture of a Writing Excuses session. This time around they are much less likely to melt.

Writing Excuses is a weekly podcast for writers hosted by Brandon Sanderson, Dan Wells, and Howard Tayler. Last month at the Superstars Writing Seminar we had the opportunity to record on location with some guests, and we had an additional opportunity to let somebody else set up a camera. Brandon wasn't available for this session, but Dan and I muddled through without him just fine with the help of our expert guests Mary Robinette Kowal and Dave Wolverton (aka David Farland.)

It's definitely not a TV interview -- we didn't have a set, we didn't spend any appreciable time talking to the camera, and we only had one camera working us over. Still, if you've wondered what one of our podcast sessions look like, wonder no more!
