How does someone actually makes these ? Should you carve in layers ?

I’m sure the carving is done in layers. I would not attempt this without a dremel tool. And a smock. Yes, a dremel-tool, and a big, surgical smock. And a mask.
And a henchman to work the dremel tool while I stand back and wring my hands with glee.

Oooh. The glow worked out really nicely – with the contrast in the image, and the edges of pumpkin-flesh on the sides, it actually looks like a boiling container of plasma. (Or like I would suppose it to look, anyway.)

To carve the pumpkin, I used a normal kitchen knife and cut a sort of grid, then carefully cut away the grid squares. Tips on how to improve are very much welcomed!

That’s got to be the coolest pumpkin I have ever seen. That carved foam thing was pretty cool, but this is the Real Deal.

Thanks for the extra pics VBStrider. I liked the second one especially. On that one you can see the different layers quite good.
