Howard's 2018 Movie Rankings

This is a ranked list of the movies I've seen in 2018. I've ranked them according to how much fun I had in the theater, which is a fantastically subjective exercise that is not uncommonly at odds with how well a movie does what it's trying to do.

I've been reviewing films this way for almost eight years now, and as I've said in previous years (201020112012201320142015, 2016, 2017) I often lose track of just how much "fun" something was when comparing it to something I saw later in the year. It's not just subjective, it's inaccurate.

For all that, it's also useful. Or so I've been told.

I didn't see nearly as many films this year as I've seen in previous years, so there are several notable titles in my favorite genres which don't have entries here. I'll try to do better for y'all next year.

(note: The current position of Avengers: Infinity War is due to me not yet having seen the conclusion of the Infinity War arc. So maaaaybe in 2019 I'll revisit this list.)
