Writing Excuses, with Brandon Sanderson, Howard Tayler, and Daniel WellsThis week’s episode of Writing Excuses features Michael Stackpole alongside me, Dan, and Brandon, and we cover plot twists. This one was huge fun to record, and is packed with good information. Mike has a fantastic presence of voice, and also happens to know what he’s talking about.

If you want to find out how guys like us come up with plot twists, have a listen to Writing Excuses Episode 19!

It will be neat to put a voice to a guy who’s work in the Star Wars universe I have so greatly enjoyed…

_Star Wars_? I was reading him back when he was writing bleedin’
_BATTLETECH_ novels! Sheesh — kids today… where’s my rocking
    chair and blanket? :)

Ooh, Stackpole! I may have to get off my arse and actually start listening like I’ve been meaning to. (Taking a detour from fiction writing into Library and Information Science kinda puts stuff like this on the back burner for a while.)

on an unrelated note: any info on the warning magnets?

  5. Howard Tayler Says:

Point of order - you can ask that question in the Magnets thread and I’ll see it. But to answer your question, no word yet. I’m calling the manufacturer today.

I know he wrote for the Battletech universe, but as much as I loved the game back in the day, I never really cared for the novels…

So Star Wars was my first real exposure to him, and it did it well…
