I missed it, what was missing?
November 7th, 2008 at 10:05 pm
I don’t know, I missed it too, wonder which sound effect was missing.

My guess? WHAM! It looks kinda slapped in there, but truthfully, I’d have never known had he said nothing… Heh. We love you Howard!!

It was the WHAM, yes. Slapped in there? Exactly. As it turns out I was planning to do all the sound effects in Photoshop, but when I started penciling I had no notes as to what they’d be. My brain failed me, and I didn’t leave space for the WHAM.
Oh well. Maybe I’ll fix this strip up a bit for the book. Maybe not.

I really, really hope we get to see Schlock halfway through a wall. With the half-meter thick plug he’s pushed out dropping on the crowd under him, right? Although it might not match my image of the scene. Still, I wanna see it.

“Good evening, America. Our Top Story: Howard Tayler forced to
re-edit an already-posted comic strip. In Sports, Chicago Cubs win

Hey, don’t knock Hell. I have been there, and it does freeze over in the winter.
(Hell, MI)

@me262 – you have my sympathies. It was bad enough waiting until november for the landlord to fix the heat around here.

What’s up with the text? I don’t recall having seen this type of lettering before…
November 8th, 2008 at 3:45 pm
Which text? The font used by the Southie raiders, or the lettering used for the sound effects?
The font used is “Eurocomic” and I used it back in “The Teraport Wars” book. It’s the font used by the street rats there.
The lettering technique for sound effects is one I’ve been experimenting with for a couple of years now. I have more control of how the sound effect layers in with the art if I don’t drop it in with the inked layers.

LOL! And there’s Schlock, halfway through the wall.
Will he get a medal for taking out the whole bunch all by his lonesome? :-)

Howard: The Eurocomic font was just completely throwing me off, for some reason. Thanks for the clarification!
(gotta get me some more sleep, starting to go crazy…)
