Post-Shipping Clearance
Posted June 16th, 2009 by Sandra TaylerWith Scrapyard out the door Sandra is in the throes of the post-shipping clean up. You should see the basement. It looked like a tornado hit it. Then it looked like FEMA hit it. Then it looked like nice, competent professionals came in and put everything back together.
Anyway, part of this clean-up process includes updating the store listings to reflect actual inventory. We found a few more mousepads, pins, and loose magnets lying around.

And if you really must have all eight of the magnets, you can buy a full set.
We also have a pile of damaged books for sale at clearance prices.

These books are all dinged, dented or damaged in some way, but no more than you probably would expect after the book has been read a few times. We guarantee that none of the pages are ripped, loose, or missing. If your budget is tight then these scratch-and-dent books are a great way to go. Supplies are limited to what we have on hand.
An array of posters and special prints is also available.
Sandra tells me that we need to clear out some of this inventory to make space for new inventory. The very shiniest of the new inventory will be XDM: X-Treme Dungeon Mastery by Tracy and Curtis Hickman, illustrated by yours truly. We’ve gotten our twenty advance copies, and this book is wonderful. Pre-orders for XDM will open in July.

Got my boxed set in, and it’s a beaut. You weren’t kidding about the slipcase being awesome. Just in time to help me kill time at my next training command, too.
The wait for XDM is seriously killing me, though. I need to get my hands on that.

My boxed set arrived last night as well. The case is a bit battered, but still very solid. I wish boxed sets sold over here were as good: the comicbooks themselves are usually hardcover, but the boxes are often flimsy.
The Hypernet node is courrently being used as a bookmark, but my grown daughter voted it a seriously cool idea.

Ooooooo. The cover of XDM is even cooler than the central image you posted. I can’t wait to get my hands on it, then pass it off to get signed, multiple times.
Let’s see, there’s you, Tracy, Curtis, Sandra… You may have to point out anyone else involved in the project who’s signature I must get scrawled within the pages.
I can hardly wait. SQUEEEEEEEEE!

My book and slipcase arrived yesterday too. Top notch condition and amazingly sturdy. You weren’t kidding when you described it. I should know by NOW that the Tayler Corp. does it 100% or not at all.
I thought the pin was like what pops up when you mouse over one of the options on the right, under the comic, not a Hypernet node. Either way it’s a neat bonus. Kudos to the kids and their taping job.

My copy of Scrapyard is on the way. And my laptop has a pretty new desktop background.
This is my first purchase from the Schlock store – I got previous books from Amazon where shipping is free – but Scrapyard isn’t listed there yet. $6.95 S&H seems kind of steep, especially considering I could walk to Howard’s house from mine. I suppose I could drive down to the Keep–that’s where I got the first book, actually–but now my address is on file at the Tayler Corporation, should they decide to send out Christmas cards again or something like that. :)

_SoIA_ arrived here, and has been read*. So, what and when is the
next book to be released? :)
[*: . o O ( *PLEASE* don't ask where it was being read.... ;) ) ]

You’ll be selling XDM at Gencon, right? I’m looking forward to that.

Well – my scratch-and-dent copy Scrapyard arrived. And there’s a problem. It’s in perfect condition. I paid for a _damaged_ copy, and there’s not a scratch or dent anywhere on the book! What kind of customer service is this?!

Things that will qualify a book for the S&D box:
1) I screwed up the sig on the cover, or botched a sketch in the back.
2) the stamp in the back got smeared.
3) Imperfection in the cover (usually not noticeable unless you’ve been looking at hundreds of books that day)
4) Crinkle or crease somewhere. Often those “press out” after the book’s been at the bottom of the S&D box for a week.
5) Ran out of S&D books to fill orders, so we threw in a perfectly good one rather than refunding money.
If you’ve got one from the #5 column, go ahead and smack the spine against the table corner. That’s guaranteed to leave a mark.

Those books went FAST!
If you need inventory room, maybe it’s time for a “THOOM SALE!”. Discount assorted Schlock Mercenary items (books? I always thought if you’re buying all 5 books and the slipcase you should get some kind of discount).
Also, I’d love to get those adhesive warning signs, but I don’t like the outside outline, they’d just peel up once I stuck my laptop back in it’s bag. Any chance of run-of-the-mill warning stickers?
