Matrix Incites Revolution
entry,

I meant to update this letter last night, while Matrix: Abomination was fresh in my mind, but I decided to read a Terry Pratchett book instead. It was cleansing.

The movie was every bit as action-packed as I hoped. It was a special effects extravaganza. I went in fully expecting to see either Neo, Trinity, or Morpheus die (and I hoped it would be Neo) in a way that rounded out the savior metaphor they had going.

For the most part, I got what I wanted. Unfortunately, the film still left me feeling disappointed. You know something's wrong when the third part of a three part story (not a second sequel, supposedly) leaves you disappointed. It would be like finishing The Lord of The Rings and finding out that all the elves have fled Middle Earth, and that Frodo gets maimed.

Errr... yeah. Like that.

On a happier note, my dinner conversation with Lee Adam Herrold, Chalain, and Lee's friend Adam resulted in a fresh and funny comic over at Chopping Block. Of course, very nearly ALL of Lee's comics are fresh and funny, but seeing something we talked about over dinner end up in a comic makes it extra fresh for me.

Chalain gets all the credit. All I did was let the Loony Fanboy take the Comic Genius (Lee, not me) to dinner, and then assail him with comic ideas.

Head over to Chopping Block now, because (as Lee puts it so aptly) "Serial killers are people, too." Besides, you'll probably enjoy it more than the latest Matrix installment since it's not quite as dark.
