Six Years, Redux

And six years ago today? This was my first full day as a self-employed webcartoonist. I luxuriated in the schedule, we had a family meeting in which we discussed the tighter budget (my older children wept when they learned that Hot Pockets, chicken nuggets, chimichangas, and other frozen foodstuffs were now off the menu), and I began wondering in earnest where I was going to find $3,000 a month. It was a good Tuesday, in that it was auspicious. It was a day of free-fall in which I simultaneously exulted in the rushing of fresh air and panicked over whether or not I was going to be able to invent a parachute in time. I've since had better Tuesdays. I'm hoping to make today one of them.
