Book 14: Broken Wind — Part I: Breath and Business

Transcript

NARRATOR: Briefing dismissed...

SCHLOCK: Petey!  What are you playing at?

SCHLOCK: I know you can hear me!

PETEY: Hello, Sergeant.

SCHLOCK: Well?

PETEY: Well what?

SCHLOCK: Are you going to answer my question?

PETEY: You asked what I'm playing at.  If you define "playing at" as "involving myself in," the answer is "everything."

SCHLOCK: That's not what I meant, and you know it.

PETEY: You want to know what ulterior motive I have for offering your captain and his company a comfortable retirement.

SCHLOCK: Yes!  You're sneaky that way!  Something big is up, and you're trying to manipulate us.

PETEY: Fine.  You won't like the answer, but here it is:

PETEY: I am trying to take a band of career sociopaths out of circulation.

SCHLOCK: Im in.  Tell me who to shoot.

PETEY: Apparently I'm sneakier than either of us thought.
