Book 17: A Little Immortality — Part I

Transcript

NARRATOR: Ancient ruins...

NARRATOR: Some are the stone remnants of tiny empires of primitive folk who thought they were building things that would last...

NARRATOR: Some are mechorganic meldings that spawned amid the rotting bones of world-spanning civilizations...

NARRATOR: Some are actual worlds, their structural integrity straining the limits of the word "ruin," and their age giving the word "ancient" a proper spot of polish.

NARRATOR: Whatever their provenance, they all send a common message to those musing upon them:

unknown 1: We're going to be rich.

unknown 2: We need to be careful.
