Book 17: A Little Immortality — PART V

Transcript

ULAQUE: We found ourselves racing against a ravenous swarm of self-replicating extinction.

Our fleets uploaded people by the billions, and then trillions.

There wasn't time to ask people what they wanted.

PUTZHO: That's not actually okay, Ulaque.

ULAQUE: Do you ask the people in a burning building whether or not they want to be saved?

PUTZHO: That's a very different scenario.

ULAQUE: Okay, what if the only way to save people from the flames is to nannybag their heads?

PUTZHO: The mayor is going to have some choice words for the fire chief.
