It looks like about half a day after I got all of my pages uploaded with new forum links, the folks at Nightstar did a forum upgrade which invalidated the URLs I provided. Naturally, I didn't find out about this until I arrived in Spain. Fortunately, I can fix this.

The new home of the Official Alternative Schlock Mercenary Forum is right here. This link will appear in various places here at schlockmercenary.com for as long as that forum exists. Thanks again go out to the folks at Nightstar for hosting this. Be sure to check out some of the other fun content over there -- it's all free.

The rain in Spain falls mainly right here in Barcelona, at the moment. I was hoping to sight-see a bit today, but that plan is off. I'm sitting in my hotel room web-surfing at 56kb, answering email, and (as indicated by the above paragraph), applying digital fungicide to some link rot. This is a lot like most of my business trips. I'm very familiar with the insides of hotels and conference centers in Johannesburg, Nice, Chicago, San Diego, San Francisco, New York City, Manchester, Cape Town, and other fine cities that I'd love to see the rest of.

I'm not complaining. I love working for Novell. You should all be very thankful for Novell, too. If it weren't for the fact that I have a solid day-job here, I'd have to work multiple jobs to support my several dependents, and that would spell the end of Schlock Mercenary.

If you're at all interested in hearing about my flight over here, I pity you. It was so boring I popped a couple of Excedrin PM tablets and slept for as much of it as I could manage (nearly five hours, although I was too groggy to count them). The in-flight movie out of Atlanta was Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone, and I was all too happy to sleep right on through that. Sadly, the film scheduled for the return flight is NOT The Fellowship of the Ring, but Ocean's 11, which I actually rented the night before I had to leave. I guess this means I'll be popping more pills instead of wearing a headset.

I may post another update or two before I return, but I doubt it. This was an emergency, what with the forums moving around and stuff.
