Book 16: Big, Dumb Objects — Part IV

Transcript

NARRATOR: Jumpstar Prime...

LANDON: Tool up, folks. Once Tenzy powers the cage back up we will have maybe thirty seconds to deploy, and secure the other end.

Be ready to hit hard, and hit fast.

SCHLOCK: I don't think I can do this.

LANDON: Do you need a pep talk?

SCHLOCK: Is it gonna be you yelling at me with the growly voice?

LANDON: We are in a hurry, and my growly voice makes things go faster.

SCHLOCK: Yell all you want. I can't hate myself more than I already do.

LANDON: Okay... the guilt and shame you feel... if you could force it onto someone else, and make them feel it instead, would you?

SCHLOCK: Wouldn't that be wrong?

LANDON: Yes. And if you don't go to battle for your friends, the killing will end up on someone else's conscience.

The soldier's sacrifice isn't dying.

It's killing and then living with having killed.

SCHLOCK: So, because I'm already bloody I should just take all the blood?

TANDERSIL: Not all of it.

Soldiers share.

SCHLOCK: Tandersil? Why are you here? I threw you through a wall.

TANDERSIL: And after fighting against you I figured I'd prefer fighting alongside you.

Please?
