Attention, Utah Schlockers!!!
entry,

Per the schedule below, this Saturday, February 12th is "Local Artists' Day" at the Dragon's Keep comic-book and game shop in downtown Provo. I'm going to be whipping out free sketches, and I'll bring along some previously-whipped-out marker art of Schlock characters for purchase (between $10 and $20 each). I'll also have other originals (including original strips) for you to look at.

If you can't make it on Saturday, the following Thursday through Saturday is Life, The Universe, and Everything XXIII at Brigham Young University's Wilkinson Center. Admission is FREE, but you will need to register at the door. I'll be on a number of panels, including a special Schlock Mercenary panel where you can grill me mercilessly on those science-y bits you think I got wrong, and whine keenly over the loss of Captain Kaff Tagon.

In preparation for these events, I'm working my tuckered tuckus off. Monday I whipped out a full week of Schlock Mercenary, and it's a good thing because with the commercial projects I've taken on (Schlock doesn't quite make ends meet yet, folks) I had to let the buffer slide all the way down to... um... five.

Don't panic. It's back up to twelve. My plan for taking it further can be found in my Live Journal right here. Up-to-the-minute buffer tracking can be found in the Nightstar Schlock forum, as can lots of other things, like banners to use when linking to Schlock Mercenary, polls for predicting what happens next in the strip, and threads discussing the science-y bits folks thing I'm getting wrong. Do go have a look.

The thank-you notes for Sandra's birthday gifts are almost complete. I've handed her the stack of completed marker-art, and she's writing notes and mailing them out. I realize it's taken a little longer than we originally hoped. A rhinoceros* trampled my entire family, and we're still recuperating.

*(NOTE: It may have been a rhinovirus. Still, there was trampling.)
