Book 12: Force Multiplication — Part III: Fight or Flight

Note: It would have been more accurate for Kathryn to say that accurate measurement of Para Ventura's force multiplication is done on a logarithmic scale, in which each whole-number step on the scale represents a tenfold increase in whatever's being measured. In short, she's like the Richter scale, only with robots.

NARRATOR: One private debriefing later...

KATHRYN: Good news.  All of you still have jobs.

BUNNI: What about you?

KATHRYN: Oh, I'm still unemployed, obviously.  Tagon doesn't want me anywhere near his payroll.

KATHRYN: You're a good officer, Bunni.  I'm sorry I screwed up your chance to shine.

KATHRYN: And you...  I don't know what you are, but you force-multiply logarithmically.

PARA: I have to.  The starting number is kind of small.
