Book 5: The Scrapyard of Insufferable Arrogance — Part I: Hand to Mouth

Transcript

Hunnig: These are trying times, Captain. I called to let you know that your employer Duke Benninyninji, has been assassinated.
Tagon: Oh. Well, I'm glad I got half down in advance.
Hunnig: Ah, yes. You see, his estate has devolved onto the ministry of Agricentrist Deconstruction. Their auditors demand that you return that advance.
Tagon: I'm sorry. It's very, very non-refundable.
Hunnig: You were contracted for the use of force, and you've not yet actually done that. You haven't done any of the violent work that retainer was for.
Tagon: Are you suggesting that I may have to resort to violence in order to keep my money?
Hunnig: Yes, I. . . Er. . . Um, no. Never mind.
