Book 8: The Sharp End of the Stick — Part IV: Do You Mind if I Rewind?
Note: As any student of the doctrines of warfare in the technological eras can tell you, there is a big difference between a well-equipped company and a squad carrying all the materiel for a well-equipped company. One is efficient, flexible, and extremely dangerous. The other stands a good chance of being murdered for its luggage.

Elf: You know. . . The Sergeant does need a new plasma cannon.
Elf: And I think that's what's wrong with the armor. . .
Kevyn: You want plasma cannons?
Elf: No. Well, yes, but not like that. It's hard to describe quickly.
Elf: I need one word that says "I want multiple unit types, differentiated, providing everything from heavy armor and cover to information-based attacks."
Kevyn: "Greedy" is one word.
Elf: So is "I'll-punch-you-in-the-nose."
Kevyn: Amazing. I could almost hear all those hyphens.
