Book 11: Massively Parallel — Part IV: Mallcop Command

CAPTAIN TAGON: Shodan, what's our angle here?

SHODAN: Sorry, Sir.  I should have briefed you, but I needed to move quickly before the opportunity passed.

CAPTAIN TAGON: What opportunity?  It looks like you're finding jobs for the enemy.

SHODAN: I am.  Sir, we're overqualified for this, and we're short-timing.

What if, for at least the next couple of weeks, we put all our life-or-death expertise and energy into building something wonderful... something that will outlast our stay here?

CAPTAIN TAGON: Building what?  I'm still not seeing it, Shodan.

SHODAN: It's an extension of what we're already doing, Sir.

By night, Mall-One becomes the largest Parkata Urbatsu dojo in U.N.S. space.

We'll also be training people to replace us.  We're not here forever, you know.

CAPTAIN TAGON: And by day?

SHODAN: High energy performances, adoring crowds...

Basically, we show off for money.

SHODAN: The only real danger is that we could get used to it.
