Book 15: Delegates and Delegation — Part I: Confidence

MURTAUGH: Sergeant, I've done my homework.  You have posed a discipline challenge for every officer under whom you have served.

MURTAUGH: The only way any of them won you over was through the use of force.

SCHLOCK: What?  I only ever lost a fight to Captain Tagon, and he cheated.

MURTAUGH: Specifically, they won you over by authorizing you to use force.

Distressing amounts of force that give the word "excessive" a real workout.

SCHLOCK: Oh.  Oh yes.  Yes please.
