Book 19: A Function of Firepower — Part I

Transcript

NARRATOR: Kevyn Andreyasn holo-briefs the U.N.S. Penultimate Admiralty...

KEVYN: Hello, Madame Secretary.

KEVYN: Hello, honored admirals.

KEVYN: I will open with a prepared statement.

KEVYN: Out of respect for your time, and due in part to my own mild-to-moderate state of inebriation, I shall forgo honorifics for the duration of this briefing.

KEVYN: Before you voice objections, please note that I am a citizen of a foreign power, and you called me.

BREYA: Translated: We're in a hurry, my brother is drunk, and he doesn't have to be here.

BREYA: Is everybody okay with this?

DEVEREAUX: It's perfect. I take my briefings like I take my coffee:

DEVEREAUX: No cream, no sugar, no water.

KEVYN: That sounds joyless.

DEVEREAUX: I don't need joy. Just a big bag of something bitter to chew on.
