Book 10: The Longshoreman of the Apocalypse — Prologue: Drydock

Ship-bot: You could have warned us about the water, Captain. Are there any more surprises aboard your derelict?
Captain Tagon: No, I don't think so, sorry.
Kevyn: Hang on. . . I had Corporal Pibald's Boomex colony in my quarters. If that spilled, it may have metastasized.
Captain Tagon: It's Lieutenant Pibald, Commander.
Kevyn: Oh, I forgot. You now give promotions to people who try to blow up your ship.
Captain Tagon: Pi isn't the one letting high explosives run loose in his quarters.
Kevyn: And I'm not the one setting precedents that will get us all killed.
Ship-bot: Yeah, control? Back everybody up again.
