Book 18: Mandatory Failure — Part I

Transcript

TAGON: This militia fleet looks pretty soft.

KATHRYN: Compared to us? Very soft. Our point defenses can take care of anything the U.P.A. can launch at us.

TAGON: Suppose those U.P.A. ships keep firing, and I get tired of the noise, so I decide to make it stop?

KATHRYN: We'll be in trouble with the government, whose fleet is... less soft.

TAGON: I'd let us get shot at a lot before I fire back.

It'll be self-defense.

KATHRYN: It's hard to prove when the "aggressor" has been reduced to an expanding cloud of minor navigation hazards.

TAGON: Gimme some credit. I can leave plenty of big pieces.
