Book 15: Delegates and Delegation — Part III: Conflagration

NARRATOR: U.N.S.V. Chicxulub, flag for Low-Earth Orbit Command...

CHU: This is CINC-LEO Six Actual, Admiral Chu speaking.  Low-Earth-orbit is under martial law effective immediately.

An as-yet unknown enemy has hijacked the ring, and we've been unable to re-take it expeditiously.  At this juncture we must sweep the whole thing out of orbit.

CHU: Authorizations for this action are attached.

CHU: *on screen* Consider your vessels commandeered.  Your individual flight plans are attached.  Some of you will be staying out of the way.  Those with capture-enabled shields will be trapping debris.

Yes, this will take a bit of paint off of your hulls.

CHU: *holoprojected* If our attacks are not precisely coordinated, we'll find ourselves with a Kessler cascade, and I'd prefer to not start the next millennium making Kessler runs.

CHU: *on screen* It's been said that if you are not part of the solution, you're part of the problem.

In this case, if you're not part of the solution, you will become part of the precipitate, and Earth's finest forensic rocket scientists will not be able to find all of your falling pieces.

You have your orders.  Chu out.

ENNESBY: On the upside, this flight plan they gave me will let me shoot things.
