PUTZHO: What happened to all the set dressing? All that soothing, outdoorsy splendor?

ULAQUE: Did it soothe you?

PUTZHO: Not really.

ULAQUE: Did the splendor instill in you a sense of awe and respect?

PUTZHO: Mostly it made me homesick.

You knew it was counter-productive, so you wiped it?
